Key Responsibilities
Accurate Financial Reporting
Ensure the precision and completeness of financial records.
Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and reconciliations with a focus on eliminating discrepancies.
Month-End and Year-End Close
Lead the month-end closing process including accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations.
Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
Accounts Reconciliation
Perform timely bank, intercompany, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies across accounts.
Ad Hoc & Management Reporting
Generate custom financial and performance reports to support business decisions.
Support department heads and senior management with budget variance analysis and forecasting data.
Payments and Payroll
Manage salary processing and coordinate payroll reconciliation with HR.
Oversee vendor and contractor payments including bank transfers, cheque processing, and reconciliation of payment logs.
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with UAE tax regulations.
Ensure accurate tax classification and documentation for all transactions.
Liaise with auditors and tax authorities as needed.
Process Improvement & Internal Controls
Maintain and enhance internal control systems to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Recommend and implement improvements to accounting policies, procedures, and systems (preferably within Xero).
Supportive Administration
Assist in daily office accounting operations and admin functions as required.
Handle additional responsibilities as requested by the Finance Manager or C-Suite.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting, preferably in a digital agency, production house, or dynamic start-up environment.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/ACCA qualification is a plus.
Systems: Proficiency in Xero is highly preferred; experience with other ERPs is an asset.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
