Overview
General description
To work as Deck Operator and perform a number of tasks in connection with lifting operations under the supervision of the Deck Supervisor.
Responsibility
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the below.
◾ Perform other work as directed
◾ Emergency responsibilities as per station bill
Responsible for:
◾ Leading the operators assigned to the deck by example, and providing mentoring
◾ Maintaining a good working environment in the drilling areas by good housekeeping
◾ Lifting operations as a Crane Operator, when required
Participate in:
◾ Handling of tubular and other drilling equipment
◾ Loading and unloading cargo from supply vessels
◾ Handling of fuel and bulk cargo
◾ Helideck operations
◾ Maintenance of deck equipment
Experience:
◾ Experience as Assistant Crane Operator / Deck Operator or equivalent
Certification Requirements:
◾ Training according to the training matrix
◾ Crane Operator Stage 2 certificate or equivalent as per area of operation
◾ Certified as Helicopter Landing Officer – preferably accredited to OPITO
◾ Banksman Slinger and Ringer certificate – OPITO / Norwegian standard or internal
