Executive Housekeeper Vacancy

The Manhattan Hotel in Pretoria CBD is looking for a skilled Executive Housekeeper with strong capabilities and appropriate work experience to join its dynamic team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a young, driven, dexterous individual to assist our housekeeping department.

Qualities:

We are looking for a positive individual with strong leadership and organizational skills to work in our housekeeping department. The candidate needs to be practical, hands on and must be able to resolve problems efficiently and effectively.

Executive Housekeeper main purpose is to ensure smooth operation of the Housekeeping department and to ensure all company standards are maintained with regards to the ROOM, PUBLIC AREAS, LINEN ROOM by achieving maximum satisfaction at all times, from our guest and our staff.

Qualification and work experience

·         Grade 12 certificate

·         Has had at least five (5) years’ practical experience in the operation.

·         Comply with unit and department policy, procedures at all times.

·         Perform night duty when scheduled or required.

·         Will perform any other task given by management.

·         Ensure proper communication between staff and management.

·         Must have complete knowledge of hotel facilities available to customers.

·         Report any dangerous conditions to a Manager.

·         At all times attend timeously to calls from guests and colleagues.

·         Ensure that the work area is kept clean and maintained.

·         Ensure all paperwork pertaining to area of responsibility within department is up to date and in order

·         Ensure the most cost-effective solutions are in place concerning stock levels and suppliers

·         Attain any and all materials needed to ensure effective productivity of Housekeeping Department

 

Requirements

Strong verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Professional attitude
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent time management and multi-taksing skills
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities
Be prepared to be on standby should the need arise
Ability to do on job training and prioritise staff development
Excellent contactable references a MUST
Computer literate (Outlook, excel, word, PowerPoint)
Experience in Hotel Property management software (will be a great advantage)
Own transport essential
General

Must undergo a Pre-Employment Polygraph test, done by Forensic Specialist
Remuneration: Market related Salary
Full time position
