Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team at Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a professional institute responsible for the membership and certification of transport professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the institute, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing financial guidance to the management team.
Responsibilities:
Manage the financial affairs of the institute, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including tax laws and accounting standards
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Provide financial analysis and advice to the management team
Manage the institute’s investments and assets
Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies
Manage the membership and certification fees, including billing and collections
Membership and Certification Responsibilities:
Manage the financial aspects of the membership and certification programs, including budgeting and financial reporting
Provide financial analysis and advice on the membership and certification programs
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures for the membership and certification programs
Ensure timely and accurate billing and collection of membership and certification fees
Manage the financial aspects of the institute’s events and conferences, including budgeting and financial reporting
Requirements:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
Experience in a professional institute or a regulated industry
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in accounting software, including Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent
