Job Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Tennessee School for the Blind, 115 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Nashville, TN 37214
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 5:00 AM – 12:30 PM
Duration: 6-12months
Pay Rate: $40 – $46/hr (W2) without any benefits

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Registered Nurse 1 to join the healthcare team at the Tennessee School for the Blind (TSB). This is a 12-month position with a primary schedule during the school year (August–June) and variable hours during school breaks and summer (July). In this role, you’ll provide high-quality nursing care to students with various medical needs in a school setting. Flexibility in work hours may be required to meet clinic and student needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care as directed by physicians and established nursing protocols.
Assess student health, administer medications, monitor for side effects, and document care.
Deliver emergencies and routine care for students with conditions including diabetes, seizure disorders, asthma, anaphylaxis, gastrostomy tubes, and more.
Maintain medical records and ensure proper documentation.
Coordinate with parents and healthcare providers to collect medical documentation and care plans.
Participate in student registration, eye/hearing clinics, vaccination drives, and off-campus activities.
Respond to emergencies and perform CPR/BLS as needed.
Supervise up to 6 staff members including LPNs.
Maintain clinic inventory, health equipment, and AEDs across campus.
Minimum Qualifications:

Licensure: Current RN license in the State of Tennessee or eligible under the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience.
Education: Associate’s degree, diploma in nursing, or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
A valid driver’s license may be required.
