Job Description

The purpose of this role is to assist management with financial and KPI’s oversight for service operations across DHL Facilities. This includes month-end close support and reporting, profit and loss analysis, balance sheet review, forecast and budget review and reporting, Intercompany Billing, KPI’s Management and involvement in ad hoc financial analysis to control expenses and aid in the improvement of financial performance. This position has daily interaction with operational sites and internal customers to provide financial support to operational sites and the overall business unit.

Responsibilities

• Execute, review and approve remote sites month-end close.

• Assist with the development of monthly forecasts and annual budgets for assigned sites; review site submissions and provide feedback.

• Analyze the financial performance of assigned sites and provide explanation of significant variances in performance against budget and forecast.

• Provide Ad-hocs analysis, cost control and profitability analysis of an operation / service, identifying and developing opportunities to decrease costs or grow revenue or profit.

• Assist with the training and development of site managers in financial processes.

• Assist with completing the monthly management reporting to include the trading document, corporate consolidation reporting, new business reporting, corporate commentary, etc.

• Handle broad range of Finance – some admin, but sometimes complex and non-routine requiring more background research, e.g. compliance, budget guidance.

• Ensure internal controls and policies are applied appropriately.

• Participate in ongoing decisions regarding sites financial risks; provide suggestions and recommendations to Operation.

• Collect, Control and Report KPI’s.

• Support existing digital workflows, e.g. annual Service Level Agreement process, and contribute to further automation and digitalization opportunities.

• Work with BI Tools for Management Reporting and Data Analytics, drive further development of BI Reports.

• Work with different stakeholders from different functions and with different seniority, including Regional Management and Country Management Maintains financial records for compliance and audit to all agreed requirements and identify and develop opportunities to reduce costs or grow revenue or profit.

Competencies

• Analytical skills, especially regarding cost and profitability controlling, background in Finance / Controlling and working with KPIs.

• Proven Financial Planning and Accounting skills.

• Open and positive communication style, good at building relationships; Encourages and supports open and direct communications within their team and with others, • communicating complex or difficult messages effectively.

• Experience in working with Financials Systems, e.g. Oracle or SAP, as well as good skills in working with reporting tools, especially BI; Open to pick up new topics and developments, e.g. digitalization, data analytics or process improvements.

• Deal with ambiguity and stand alone skills.

• Executes their work independently making their own decisions when it comes to typical tasks or issues;

• Strong accounting and financial modeling skills in a multi divisional portfolio.

• Handle and resolve typical, not too complex issues independently;

• Knowledgeable in main products, services and business processes of their key business and basic knowledge of all other divisions.

• Build relationships. Understands customer and project sponsor interests and concerns.

• Change management/ inspire the organization to respond positively to changes.

• Project planning to ensure smooth operational delivery.

Qualifications

• HND Or Relevant University Degree in Finance, Accounting required (Minimum HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics).

• Graduate qualification, MBA and/or CPA/CA preferred.

• 5+ years of business finance or other relevant experience.

• 2-5 years of experience in FP&A and/or Business Controlling and/or Accounting.

• Strong ability to Communicate efficiently {both oral and written} in English language to all DHL stakeholders.
