The Role / Job brief
We are looking for a reliable Debt collector to contact debtors and claim outstanding debts towards their creditors. You will be responsible for recovering the money owed in as little time as possible.
This position can be stressful and difficult. A debt collector/ recovery officer will have to be polite and sensitive towards customers while also remaining committed to their purpose and persistent. Excellent communication skills and a sense of urgency are extremely useful to succeed in this task.
Successful Candidates will:
l Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts
l Plan course of action to recover outstanding payments
l Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
l Handle questions or complaints
l Create trust relationships with customers when possible to avoid future issues
l Update account status and database regularly
l Achieve collection assigned target to ensure positive cash flow.
l Maintain security and confidentiality of company and customer information.
l Follow legal requirements during debt collections to avoid legal issues.
l Attend educational programs for professional growth and skill development.
Requirements :
l Proven experience as debt collector/ recovery officer
l Experience in working with targets and tight deadlines
l Knowledge of relevant legal requirements
l Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
l Excellent communication and people skills
l Apt in negotiating and persuading
l Ability to be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
l Target and goal Oriented
Qualification:
l Higer B.sc/ Diploma in quantitative field is preferred
l Working experience in related industry and line of business
