KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AREAS (KRAs)
1)
Scheduling and Operations Coordination
▪
Develop and maintain crude oil lifting schedules in alignment with production forecasts and sales agreements to control tank tops.
▪
Coordinate with terminal operators, production teams, vessel owners, and traders to ensure timely crude evacuation in a bid to avoid demurrage.
▪
Monitor daily production and storage levels to prevent tank-top situations or production curtailment.
▪
Manage vessel nomination, acceptance, berthing, and loading operations for the avoidance of commercial penalties stemming from delays.
2)
Logistics and Cargo Management
▪
Liaise with shipping agents, inspectors, and surveyors to ensure smooth cargo operations.
▪
Oversee cargo measurement, sampling, and quality verification processes to guarantee operations integrity.
▪
Track vessel movements and provide real-time updates to internal stakeholders for operations transparency assurance.
▪
Ensure proper documentation for each lifting, including BOLs, ullage reports, certificates of quality/quantity, and shipping documents for avoidance of outturn exercise.
3) Stakeholder Engagement, Continuous Improvement, and Innovation
▪ Serve as the primary interface between production operations, terminal
management, shipping companies, regulators, and buyers to improve visibility
and alignment.
▪ Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on crude oil movements, inventory
levels, and lifting performance for proper accountability.
▪ Escalate operational risks or delays that may impact sales or production.
4) Commercial and contract Compliance
▪ Ensure all offtake activities comply with crude oil sales agreements, lifting programs,
and regulatory requirements.
▪ Verify that cargo allocations match contractual entitlements and equity volumes to
prevent disputes.
▪ Support crude oil traders with operational insights, cargo readiness updates, and
logistics constraints.
5) Risk, Safety & Regulatory Compliance
▪ Ensure all lifting operations follow Health, Safety and Environmental standards as well
as marine safety protocols to avert regulatory sanctions.
▪ Maintain compliance with government reporting requirements (e.g. NUPRC in Nigeria)
▪ Support audits and investigations related to cargo discrepancies or operational
incidents to certify process transparency.
6) Production Optimization Support
▪ Keep track of production treatment chemical utilization and supplies using applicable
tools to optimize resource utilization and eradicate resource wastage.
▪ Support production engineers in the planning and execution of production improvement
initiatives that secures revenue boost to the organization.
