Overview

The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for guiding, managing, and participating in the overall provision of Human Resources services (recruitment and selection, training and competence, performance management, succession planning, employee relations), policies, and programs for the Guyana Operations.

Oversees and participates in the implementation of Human Resources programs with Human Resources staff. Identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves problems.
Oversees and manages the work of reporting Human Resources staff. Encourages the ongoing development of the Human Resources staff.
Works as needed with Human Resources consultants, attorneys, and line management to manage and maintain good Industrial Relations.
Ongoing monitoring of all Human Resources policies, programs, and local labour legislation to keep management informed of new developments.
Interaction / communication with clients and all relevant stakeholders.
Leads the development of department goals, objectives, and systems. Provides leadership for Human Resources strategic planning.
Establishes HR departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the company’s strategic goals.
Manages and participates in the preparation and maintenance of such reports as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
Oversees training requirements, compliance for regional crews and staff.
Develops and administers programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company – inclusive of active participation and usage of the Sage People platform.
Participates in management and company staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars may be required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management, or a related field;
A minimum of seven (5) years experience in the position or similar managerial position.
Strong knowledge of Guyana labor and employment law.
Previous experience with Sage People or similar HCM platforms.
Experience working with ISO standards will be considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Suite – (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
