Job Summary

A construction company is looking for an experienced person to fill the role of Health and Safety Officer who will be responsible for coordinating and implementing the safety, health and environment policies and systems. Provide guidance on safety, health and environmental issues on various projects.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensuring that all safety policies are in place and adhered to by workers
Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the company and promoting best practice.
Conducting training lessons for employees on how to maintain safety whiles on site
Working with others to reduce the risk of accidents at the workplace
Inspecting all machines and other equipment to confirm they are in good shape before construction begins
Seeing to it that all workers and visitors receive safety induction training prior to entering the site and are in safety gears whiles on site
Visiting construction site to assess working conditions on regular basis
Record findings, highlighting any areas for improvement as well as any required modification.
Agree on remedial action with site management on any non-conformance and carry out follow up review to ensure the appropriate implementation has taken place.
Ensure full implementation of the company’s accident reporting procedure
Continually develop knowledge of health and safety to enhance the business

REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health or any discipline
Proven experience in safety and hazards works
Key competencies
Should have knowledge of all safety policies
Should possess good communication and listening skills
Must be goal-oriented and possess quality leadership skills
Should be able to give training lessons out to all workers
Should possess knowledge of renovating and organizing to fit a given project
Microsoft office suite
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
