Overview
Job Summary:
The Senior Associate plays a critical role in managing complex legal matters, supervising junior lawyers, and delivering high-quality legal services to clients. The role requires strong legal acumen, business development ability, client relationship management, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Practice & Case Management
o Lead and manage complex legal matters across Corporate Law, Litigation, Real Estate, or Commercial Transactions.
o Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts, agreements, pleadings, and legal opinions.
o Representing clients in court, tribunals and business negotiations.
o Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and firm standards.
- Client Relationship Management
o Act as the primary contact for assigned clients and cases.
o Build and maintain trusted relationships with high-profile clients.
o Provide strategic legal advice that aligns with client business goals.
- Mentorship & Supervision
o Supervise, train, and mentor junior associates, interns, and support staff.
o Review legal work and provide constructive feedback to ensure high standards.
o Coordinate team workflow and ensure deadlines are met.
- Business Development
o Contribute to the firm’s business development efforts by identifying client opportunities, attending industry events, and contributing to marketing content.
o Prepare client pitches, proposals, and service packages where necessary.
- Legal Research & Knowledge Management
o Stay abreast of legal developments, judicial precedents, and regulatory changes.
o Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and thought leadership within the firm.
- Administrative & Reporting
o Maintain proper documentation, billing records, and time entries.
o Report on the matter of progress to the Partner and participate in strategic planning sessions.

Key Requirements:
o LLB from a recognized university.
o B.L. from the Nigerian Law School.
o Minimum of 7–12 years post-call experience in a reputable law firm.
o Possession of LLM or relevant certifications is an advantage.
Work Conditions
o Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
o Work from Home once a week
o Occasional travel for client meetings, court appearances, or firm representation.
