Job Description:

As a Business Analyst you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful integration and adoption of technology within the organization. Your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between business needs and technological solutions, thereby facilitating the seamless implementation and utilization of the electronic cargo tracking system.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders including operations managers, logistics coordinators, and IT personnel to understand business requirements, operational workflows, and regulatory compliance standards related to cargo tracking and security.
Business Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes and workflows associated with cargo transportation, identifying inefficiencies, vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement. Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and align them with the capabilities of the electronic cargo tracking system.
Solution Design: Translate business requirements into functional specifications and system design documents. Define system architecture, data flows, and integration points necessary for the successful implementation of the electronic cargo tracking system.
Vendor Evaluation and Selection: Research and evaluate potential vendors or technology partners offering electronic cargo tracking solutions. Participate in vendor demonstrations, assess product capabilities, and negotiate contracts to ensure alignment with business objectives and budget constraints.
Project Management: Collaborate with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for the implementation of the electronic cargo tracking system. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively address any issues that may arise during the implementation phase.
User Training and Support: Develop training materials and conduct user training sessions to educate stakeholders on the functionalities and usage of the electronic cargo tracking system. Provide ongoing support and assistance to end-users, addressing any questions or concerns related to system usage.
Change Management: Implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of the electronic cargo tracking system within the organization. Work with stakeholders to overcome resistance to change and promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Compliance and Security: Ensure that the electronic cargo tracking system complies with industry regulations, data protection laws, and security standards. Implement appropriate controls and protocols to safeguard sensitive cargo information and prevent unauthorized access or tampering.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Proven experience as a business analyst or project manager in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
7 years general experience.
5 years special experience.
Strong understanding of cargo tracking technologies, such as RFID, GPS, and IoT sensors.
Proficiency in business process modelling, requirements elicitation, and solution design techniques.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is a plus.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements related to cargo transportation and security.
Familiarity with change management principles and practices.
